A Direct Link to your Boat

BMS07 gives you peace of mind by letting you know what’s happening on your boat when you’re not there. It is ideally suited to moored boats, or boats on trailers, because of their vulnerability and the system’s ultra-low power consumption.

  • Your boat can be stolen without being broken into. BMS07 will detect this based on a change in GPS position and send you updated GPS positions allowing interception or recovery of your boat.
  • A serious leak can sink your boat very quickly. BMS07 can alert you to the presence of water in your bilge giving you time to save your boat.
  • Fire can spread from a nearby boat, or start on your boat. BMS07 can warn you if smoke is detected.
  • A low battery can be an inconvenience (eg you can’t start your engine), or a threat to your boat (especially if it’s the bilge pump battery). BMS07 can warn you that a battery is getting low.
  • Active messaging reassures you that the system is operating and armed. A current GPS position is also sent to let you know where your boat is.

Ultra-low Power Consumption

  • BMS07 uses a tiny 1.6mA when it is not reading the GPS.
  • Intelligent Power Management switches on the GPS at regular intervals, then switches it off straight after taking a reading.

Low Total Cost of Ownership

  • No monitoring fees - BMS07 sends messages directly to you.
  • Accepts SIM cards from any provider.
  • No expensive charging systems required due to the ultra low power consumption.

Think about this

  • A boat on a mooring (or even at a Marina) can be accessed by water and can be easily towed away without anyone even getting on board.
  • A boat on a trailer in the street can be towed away in seconds. Club Marine (a major Australian boat insurer) has records of boats being stolen from “driveways, backyards and even from a security garage under an apartment block”.
  • If your boat starts taking on water (for example, because a seacock gives way, an engine exhaust hose starts leaking or the hull is damaged by another boat), then even if you have a fully charged 80aH battery attached to a 1500GPH bilge pump, the boat will sink in 10-12 hours (assuming that the bilge pump motor does not burn out before the battery is exhausted).
  • An electrical problem can discharge a house or a starting battery. If the battery runs the bilge pumps, then your boat is in jeopardy if it starts taking on water. If the battery is your starting battery, then you will arrive at your boat and be unable to start it.
  • If your boat is kept in close proximity to another boat (for example, in a berth at a Marina) an early warning of smoke coming from a nearby burning vessel may provide enough time for you to move your boat (or have it moved) before your boat ignites.
  • An early warning of a smouldering electrical fire on your boat may enable you to deal with it before it gets out of hand.
